H&S Help School in Costa Rica

Everyone who attended our Christmas concert heard about the project - spearheaded by Tenor Gerry Geiger - to provide an elementary school in Costa Rica with new bathroom facilities. Just over $3000 was raised through collections at the concert, partial proceeds from the concert donated by the choir, and the personal donations by friends. Gerry took the funds with him on a trip to Costa Rica, and with the help of volunteers and local contractors, arranged for a completely new septic system, two renovated bathrooms and a handwashing station. The teachers are so grateful that they are cleaning these new bathrooms themselves! Here are a few pictures to show you the school, the new bathrooms, and what a typical 'tico' classroom looks like.
